A short while back, I wrote this poem that was published in The Examiner, a newspaper that spans five counties in the Kansas City area. Hope you like it!
The Perfect May Day When April's daffodils have gone away And hyacinths slip back to their earth, The glad unfolding of May's display, Sings happiness of our birth. Into the perfect spring, the perfect May, We joyfully greet sweet spring's morning dew; And nature's gift, a floral bouquet For each of us, not just a few. The sprite arrival of the perfect May Day Sings a chorus of promise and grace; Warm sun, barefoot grass-carefree summer on its way, And a bright smile on every flower's face.
